The period of reclusion is over, the long stoned starry nights in front of the flickering screen, the introspection and the internal debates.

After having worked together during the recording of ‘Live in the Garden’, Maël and I had talked about putting together a new group and producing music with an atypical line-up and sound. The idea was to shake up the phoney live music scene by proposing something genuine and sensual.
The arrangements on the album Microclimate featured some rootsy acoustic instruments married with analogue synthesisers and computer sampling and effects. This was the music that we wanted to perform live, and the period of experimentation that resulted in Microclimate was important in developing a strong and individual approach and sound.
We found the perfect partners in Emmanuel Harang and Christian Mariotto. This rhythm section have played in a wide variety of styles and groups, and their adaptability and talent made things fall into place quickly.
This is the lineup dating from early 2005 :

Robert Hancock - voice, guitars, mandolin, keyboards
Maël Nesti – keyboards, guitar, mandolin, melodica, samples
Emmanuel Harang – double-bass, bass
Christian Mariotto – drums

In 2006 the group embarked upon a series of concerts, from small bars to large concert halls to outdoor festivals.

As the experts say --

"The two hemispheres meet , their climates mix, the clock spins, the tides rise and fall at will and a new contemporary folk music is born which is rooted in an imaginary country."

We cordially propose that you invite us to play in your town or country. In the meanwhile, listen to these songs recorded at Studio Second Side, Chavelot, France in april 2006, featuring Robert Hancock and Microclimate.
